This is the last week of school at Wayland for the 2014-15 school year. We, as teachers, are starting to wrap things up and do our final assessments or activities with our classes. I recently took time to reflect upon the past school year to see if my goals were achieved that I had set in my Personal Growth Plan.

Here are the results:

Tech Consultant Activities | Create infographics
There are 157 teachers that I work with at Wayland Union Schools. I was able to have multiple contacts with 96% of these teachers. I was able to discuss technology integration (TTT) with 75% of the teachers. I was able to show ISTE-Teacher Standards Growth in 95% of the teaching staff. Here are some of the activities that showed growth in technology integration this school year:
  • Many teachers learned to use the Google PLC Folder for PLC meetings and documentation
  • Some PLCs met using Skype
  • Teachers learned to use the new Gradebook in Infinite Campus
  • Students using Gizmos App on the iPad

  • Students using sets of 5 iPads in elementary classrooms for differentiation
  • Teachers using Infinite Campus Messenger to send messages to Parents and Students (instead of paper copies)
  • High School now has daily video announcements created by the Digital Journalism class (currently we have regular newscasts at Pine Street, Middle School, Dorr, and the High School)
  • M-Step online testing was successfully implemented at the High School (on iPads), Middle School (on iPads), Pine Street Elementary (on iPads and Computer Labs), Dorr Elementary (on Computers), and Steeby Elementary, (on iPads and Computer Labs)
  • NWEA MAP testing was successfully implemented on iPads at the Middle School, Pine Street Elementary, and Steeby Elementary
  • All teachers using Planbook for lesson plans
  • Secondary Math teachers starting their journey of learning how to create iBooks that will serve as their textbooks
  • Many secondary teachers use a Course Management System (Moodle, Schoology, or Edmodo) for their classes
  • More elementary teachers are choosing to use Facebook pages/groups or websites to regularly communicate with parents
  • Our secondary music teachers are using Google Forms and Flubaroo for music assessments
  • High School Science teachers are using Google Forms and AutoCrat to conduct peer-reviewed labs
  • High School Science teachers learned how to manage all of the new technologies available in their new science rooms
  • Reflex Math was made available (and used) by many elementary teachers
  • Typing Agent was adopted as our district keyboarding platform (K-12)
  • Continued exploration of new and different ways to incorporate technology into classrooms (using iPads, computers, etc.)

I enjoyed watching teachers grow with technology this year. I am even more excited about the changes that will happen next year as the elementary schools have more iPads available as learning tools in their classrooms. I hope that my list with be twice as long in next year's reflection!
